coordinates city's literacy efforts
After Harvey flooded schools and libraries across Houston, some of the hardest-hit libraries are filling their shelves again. The Curiosity Cruiser, a library on wheels, has taken to the streets of underserved Harris County neighborhoods. And local elementary kids have taken home backpacks full of books - ones they chose themselves - to start their own libraries at home. All of this has happened thanks to the work of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, which coordinates resources and literacy efforts all over Houston to help solve some of the city's reading problems.
